Center of Gravity, or COG as it was more colloquially known, was one of the biggest attractions in Kelowna for the 11 years that it ran. Unfortunately, a change in dates plus a drug related death at the festival led to its ultimate demise.


Center of Gravity billed itself as "Canada's Hottest Beach Festival" and it was hard to argue with them on that. Hosted during what is usually the hottest weekend in one of the hottest cities in Canada, and adding to that an always impressive lineup of bands and athletes, COG consistently delivered what for many people had become the highlight of their summer, whether they were from Kelowna or traveling here from elsewhere.

Here's a little known fact... the festival actually started in 2007 as Volleyfest. It featured professional beach volleyball teams and utilized local musicians and bands.
